I worked at Walmart Store 8 as a UX product designer, shaping the next generation of retail metaverse experiences. I developed a gamified checkout system for Pokémon Go, created AR apps integrated with Walmart’s checkout, and designed UX solutions for partnerships with popular online games like Roblox, Sims 4, and Fortnite, as well as for Walmart’s virtual/VR checkout experience.

Walmart Land - Gen Z Gamification Shopping

Walmart has launched two branded Roblox experiences—Walmart Land and Universe of Play—to engage Gen Z audiences in immersive virtual worlds. In my role as a UX designer, I spearheaded the checkout system for digital twin and in-game item purchases, ensuring seamless integration of Walmart’s branding (blue/yellow palette) and user-friendly transactions. In Walmart Land, users explore interactive zones like Electric Island (dance challenges, live concerts) and House of Style (virtual dressing rooms), shop branded merch, and earn rewards through mini-games. Universe of Play acts as a virtual toy hub where players discover and collect toys, bridging digital interactions with real-world wishlists.

My design work focused on creating intuitive flows for virtual purchases, balancing playful engagement with secure payment systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align the metaverse experience with Walmart’s broader retail strategy.
